He was born on March 12, 1947 in a village Nagornoe of the Kokchetav region. He began to engage with sport's activity since 1965. He has finished SCOLIFC (1969).
In 1969 has arrived to our city (deserved trainer of USSR V. Dorokhin tells). He has arrived, practically, beggar and shoeless. He was in short trousers, worn shoes.
He lived in trainer's room, in city' Palace of sport more than one and half of years. Ate in a cafe of Shakhty's mining technical school. In that time was practice - to fasten the sportsmen on the mine enterprises and David Adamovich was registered superficial worker of mine "Southern" - with the salary 80 rubles per month.
In 1970 for the first time they taken him on all-Union competitions. Then many asked: “Righert? Who is that - Righert?” There he became second.
After that was an American city Columbus, there Righert has occupied 3 place. After these competitions, he was included in all-USSR team of weightlifting.
After that he, diligence by Plukfelder (Plukfelder can come in offices of the high city and party officials), has received an apartment in Shakhty city, on the street by Maiakovski, and later - in downtown, on Soviet street.
In 1972 has failed the participation on XX Olympic Games, where he was "on two heads higher" of the opponents.
Having made a tactical mistake. Having underestimated his luck and having overestimated own forces. In a result: the first attempt and he drops a weight for a back, the second attempt and he does not keep a weight before itself, third - again for a back. Result is - zero.

Nowadays David Righert lives at city Taganrog of the Rostov area. Heads the Southern Olympic centre Academy by Righert - one of bases of training at level of the world standards, senior trainer of a team of the Rostov region.
