He was born on March 15, 1952 in village Naratli of Tatar ASSR. He began to engage with sport's activity since 1969. He has finished SCOLIFC.
1970 Nikolai, on the training assembly, has got acquainted with Gennady Bessonov (V. K. Dorokhin tells - deserved trainer of USSR), which has invited him “to conversation” with V. K. Dorokhin, which in turn, has recommended him to Rudolf Plukfelder.
Plukfelder invited Nikolai in Shakhty city, where N. Kolesnikov have been arrived. Here, under guiding of Pluk, he have got those skills and experience, which have allowed him later step up on a Olympic pedestal.
The same as also others famous the sportsmen (V. Alekseev, D. Righert, others), Nikolai Alekseevich lived in trainer's, ate “bread with milk” in a cafe of Shakhty's mining technical school. Such as other sportsmen, he has “lived” on 80 rubles per month.
Nikolai had surprising internal force and organization. He have had came on training and not looking on arrangements and warnings of Kallistratich (nickname of V. K. Dorokhin) “jerked” and “pressed”. He exhausted himself by trainings up to night hallucinations, when he was being sufficed for a head and running on trainer's shouted from a pain: “I now die!” V. He is the champion of the world (1976), Europe (1976), USSR (1975). He is recordsman of the world. The winner of VI Spartakiada of the peoples of USSR, where has won 3 gold medals and has established records: the world - jerk - 161 kg, USSR - snatch - 123 kg. and in the total - 280 kg.
N. Kolesnikov is silver prizewinner of a championship of the world and Europe (Moscow, 1975).
He was awarded by order "Sign of Honor" (1976)
Later Nikolai Alekseevich has got over in Rostov - on - Don.
Now Nikolai Alekseevich Kolesnikov lives and works in Kazan city (Tatarstan) as the trainer. He supports the friendly relationships with the colleagues from our city and in friendship with Gennady Bessonov.
