He was born 1919 in farmstead Solontsovski. At once after ending an elementary school Aleksey have to work - family was poor. He with peasants ploughed, sowed bread collected it.

In middle of 30 years on the industrial enterprises were required the young workers and Shchepkin Aleksey comes to our city.

Under the recommendation of collective farm' government he have accepted on mine "10 years for industrialization" ("Neghdannaia" - rem. In the documents). Aleksey it was pleasant mining work.

In 1938 Shchepkin Aleksey Ivanovich have called in the Soviet army, where he has finished classes of the junior commanders. In the world was restless, the fascists prepared for 2 world war and Shchepkin Aleksey it was necessary to protect boundaries of our Native land.

In the severe winter of 1940 27-th shooting regiment conducted fierce fights with Finnish on the Karelian Isthmus. Shchepkin Aleksey was commander by machine-gun branch of a regiment. The fights did calm down neither day nor night. Company did not give an enemy to break through a ring of a defense on distant approaches to Leningrad. On the eve 22 anniversaries of the Soviet Army the regiment has received the task to beat out the opponent from antitank trench, to ensure approach of a tank brigade in a direction Isoliami. Finnish persistently resisted. The crew of Shchepkin Aleksey, having occupied positions for antitank obstacles, has opened aim fire on Finnish, thus causing fire on itself. Being poured by blood, the commander of account is heavy wounded conducted fire on the enemy. In that fight Shchepkin Aleksey was lost.

On March 21, 1940 to Shchepkin Aleksey appropriated a rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union by death.
