He was born in 1915, in village Moshkani, district Senchino of Vitebsk region. After ending seven-year school in native village, Aleksander Gorovets comes in Vitebsk, where his labor life begins. He works the mechanic, and in evenings is engaged in air club. The best of study Gorovets have sent in three-year Ulyanovsk fly school.
After leaving school in 1935, he comes to our city. He works the pilot - instructor of Shakhty's air club, then chief of fly part (air boss). In 1937 Gorovets is selected by the secretary komsomol's organization. 1939 they elect him by the deputy of a district council.
The war began.
In 1942 he go as volunteer to the front, protects Northern Caucasus. In May 1943 he is awarded with an order of Red Banner.
On July 6, 1943, in fights on a Kursk arch in region of village Zorinskie Dvori of the Belgorod region, carrying out the mission, deputy commander of an air squadron 88 Guards fighter's regiment lieutenant A.K. Gorovets has entered fight with 20 enemy bombers. Having shown in fight bravery and courage, A. Gorovets has brought down 9 planes of the enemy. The history does not know a similar feat. In that fight the hero was lost.
For unprecedented courage and the high military skill to lieutenant of guards A.K. Gorovets on September 18, 1943 was appropriated a rank of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
