In 1969, within city the new higher educational institution has appeared. Based on former pedagogical institute the institute of technology of household service has opened. In the same year on Lenin Street the musical school was open.
1970. During eighth five-year shape of city appreciably has changed. It was mastered of 233 million rubles of capital investments. At the center has grown widescreen cinema on 800 places - "Aurora".
Network of health services considerably has extended. Five new hospitals and sanitary parts have begun to work. There is largest in region children hospital more than on 300 places.
On day 25-year anniversary of a Victory in Great Patriotic war in city park, on a place of a burial place the Soviet soldier lost in fight for clearing of Shakhty city, was open a memorial complex and Eternal fire is lit.
