Simultaneously with restoration and development of a coal industry collected forces of the enterprise easy and food-processing industry. The shoe factory mastered release of new production, sewing factory assortment of products has extended, the volumes of lactic factory production, city industrial combine, confectionery factory grew. The network of trade artels extended. In city them was 12. A great demand production of artels "Leatwear" (Leather footwear), "Red seamstress", "Builder", "Сhimprom" and others used.
Shakhty (as city) beginning to get a kind of the modern comfortable city. Merit, first of all shakhtiniens: within first two years of five-year in time subbotnik (work day in Saturday) and voskresnik (work day in Sunday) on an accomplishment of city they have fulfilled about one million man-hours. For the first time in a history of city its street and the areas have begun to become covered by asphalt - street by Lenin, Red Army, Pushkin, Soviet, by Victori of revolution and others. Within these years the lighting network of city has increased on 30 kilometers (but now, by those on settlements - eye prick! All we save...).
In city, that time, were carried out measure by landing of trees. 12 parks and squares destroyed and which have been cut down during occupation were revived are created new in settlements of mines "Neghdannaia" (the parents drove me there. Now, practically waste ground), "Frunze", "Petrovski", "Komsomolskaia pravda". In streets was landed about 150 thousand trees and bushes (by the beginning of 1980 our cities was most "green" in the region). Around of city have created a green ring: on the area in 11, 5 thousand hectares landed of a poplar and acacia.
The borders of city were moved apart at the expense of construction of personal houses of the miners. The state through banks gave out on these purposes the special loans. Thus, more than 1000 houses were built.
Within 1946-1950 years almost was completely restored and the network of educational and medical, trade and cultural - educational establishments is extended. 1949 at 31-st school was trained 22 thousand pupils. Nine schools were restored.
In 1949 in city the new educational institution - teacher's institute has appeared. The first release was held in 1951.
On mines 10 ambulance stations, at other enterprises - 26 points of health were open. There have begun to work tubercular hospital, malarial server, deontology, sanitary - bacteriological - 2, diagnostic clinic laboratories, eight drugstores. 1959 in city 73 various medical establishments were totaled. In them worked about 200 doctors. Among them - deserved doctors of RSFSR N. Alekseenko, N/ Yagnich, A. Shlepov, A. Kreitsberg and others.
From the budget of city, financing culture and leisure of the workers was increased. In comparison with 1945, twice. In city worked drama theatre, 12 palace of culture and clubs two a cinema ("Native Land" - one of them), 2 state and 34 trade-union libraries.
In the beginning of 1950 the productivity of workers of a stope has increased on 25 %, and the productivity of the cut down machine has reached a record boundary of 4 thousand tons per one month. Simultaneously on 35 - 40 percents the wages of the miners have increased also.
Thus, fourth five-year was completed by October 12, 1950. In addition to the task, was given more than half of million of tons of anthracite. The collectives of factory of modeling footwear, factories of a food-processing industry have given over the plan of production on hundred thousand rubles.
January 6, 1954 presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR has ratified formation in structure of RSFSR of five new regions, including Kamensk region. The regional centre became Shakhty. The regional organizations were in our city (imagine, what there were prospects?). At this time at the centre the new office buildings are under construction, the quarters of new apartment houses on streets Mayakovski, Soviet, Chernokozova, Klimenko are pawned. In the street Soviet were constructed a wide-screen cinema "October", building of city committee CPSU (now - municipality). In the Shevchenko street was constructed theatre.
The network of establishments of household services extends. The central collective-farm market is under construction, the park of buses and automobile taxi is increased.
In area of former mine by Petrovski the auto repair factory, and in Artem area one of largest on Don meat factory was incorporated.
The coal industry develops. Surrender in operation of mine: "Southern-2" (later - "Maiskaia". In the book by Kalinin "Black leaves" it is described as "Vesnianka"), "Aiutinskaia-2", "Northern" Artem, "Artem-2". In 1954 the first turn of a water pipe from the river of Don is handed over in operation.
In November, 1957 Kamensk' region was abolished also Shakhty city again has come in structure of the Rostov-on-Don region.
Within sixth five-year (1956) Shakhty city continued to develop as the large industrial center of Don. The trust "Rostovshakhtostroi" was reorganized in combine with the same name, and in its structure the trusts "Shakhtostroi", "Podzemshakhtostroi" and number of other building organizations were created.
