City is located in territory Shakhty's of geological area of Donbass. Depth of ground is rich high-quality anthracite, which resources are estimated in 180 million tons. Great demand by shakhtiniens and population of area with production of "Stroifarfor" (first of all for an acceptable ratio price - quality), Shakhty' of sewing factory (now manufacture again survived), Shakhty' meat-lactic combine of "Don" uses. Used "Shakhty' grain factory" the technologies of batch of bread provide its high quality and consumer value.
More than 20 organizations of city conduct construction of objects of industrial and economic assignment.
